Syed Al Shahada Hospital, Rondo, District Skardu, Baltistan

Rondo is a backward and disadvantaged area of Baltistan, currently known as a sub-division of Skardu district. However, considering the importance here, proposals to make this area a separate district are also under consideration. Rondo is called the "Gateway" of Baltistan due to its location between Gilgit District and Skardu District. Most of Rondo consists of mountain valleys, and 90 percent of its population lives in mountainous areas. This is the reason why the condition of the roads in the entire region is still poor and due to the lack of basic infrastructure, the local people are facing serious difficulties in accessing health, education and other necessities of life. The area has a population of over 80,000, and these issues are affecting the daily lives of local people. The Jaglot-Skardu road is the main highway of Gilgit-Baltistan, which passes through Rondo and is about 170 km long. This highway plays an important role in the economic, social and cultural life of the region. Unfortunately, however, there was no quality hospital in this large and important area, due to which patients had to travel long distances to Skardu or Gilgit for treatment. This journey was not only a waste of time for the poor people but also very difficult financially. Moreover, Baltistan Highway is often affected by landslides, floods and other natural calamities, resulting in traffic accidents and emergency situations. On such occasions, there was no standard medical center in the area to provide immediate medical aid to the injured, which added to the difficulties. In view of all these problems, son of Rondo Mr. Qibla Sheikh Nisar Hussain Javadi decided to establish a modern hospital in this area. In 2023, the Sayyid al-Shahada Hospital, named after Imam Hussain (AS), was founded at Dasu between Baghecha and Turmak under the auspices of the Bab Al-Hadi Foundation. Alhamdulillah, within a short period of one year, the building of the hospital was completed and modern medical facilities with expert doctors are being provided.   This hospital has proved to be a valuable gift to the people of Rondo. People who had to travel to Skardu or Gilgit even for treatment of minor ailments, now they are getting the best treatment facilities in their own area. This hospital is not only improving the health system but also creating a new wave of happiness and peace in the lives of the people here. The presence of Syed Al Shahada Hospital has not only increased the health facilities in the area but it has become a ray of hope for the local people. It is now possible for the people of Rondo to have access to health facilities and other essential services at their doorsteps, bringing positive changes in their lives.
